Everlastings, Mt Magnet tour.

4 Day Mt Magnet - Dongara Tour
At Wildflower Time

Day 1
Perth - Mt Magnet
After leaving Perth we travel through the Chittering Valley to New Norcia, where we stop for morning tea. On the way we should see blue leschenaultia and kangaroo paws. As we go further north we gradually see more and more varieties of wildflowers, with colourful everlastings in pinks, yellows and white starting to appear around Dalwallinu. The road to Paynes Find, where we stop for lunch, is now lined with magnificent wildflowers. We are well and truly in wildflower country where the colours of the flowers contrast with the red of the earth. Mt Magnet is our home for the next two nights. Day 2
Mt Magnet
After a cooked breakfast we drive to Cue, where we stop to explore this historic goldmining centre with its recently restored buildings, and have morning tea. Then it is on to the deserted township of Big Bell and the ruins of an hotel that reflects the economic success it experienced in its heyday. Then to Walga Rock, where we have lunch and take the afternoon to explore this amazing natural wonder with its Aboriginal rock art and masses of wildflowers, including carpets of everlastings.
Day 3
Mt Magnet - Dongara
Today we have the opportunity to spot the famous wreath flower as well as the many varieties of other spectacular wildflowers as we travel through Yalgoo, where we have morning tea, and then to Mullewa and Coalseam Conservation Park that guarantees a spectacular display of sweeps of colourful everlastings and views of the Irwin River.
Day 4
Dongara - Perth
The last day of our tour and we travel down the Brand Highway to Cervantes where we have lunch at the Wildflower Shed and a chance to buy dried wildflowers. After lunch we continue back to Perth with a comfort stop in the delightful town of Gingin. (Morning tea and lunch are not included in the fare today.)
