Moondyne Festival

The Moondyne Festival is held every year in the historic town of Toodyay to celebrate the legendary bushranger, Moondyne Joe. Moondyne Joe was a convict who found fame through his ability to escape from any prison he was locked up in. It was said that there was no prison on earth that could hold him. When he was on the run he was credited with being a remarkable bushman, able to live off the land. This Festival not only celebrates Moondyne Joe, but also commemorates colonial Western Australia, its convicts and bushrangers.

Come and join us for a fantastic day of all things colonial. Stroll around the old town of Toodyay with its stone buildings and old pubs, listen to bush music and join in the dancing.
